Tasting Notes
Nose
There’s quite a sharp nose to begin with, leave for 20-30 minutes before nosing properly. Very fruity, lots of fresh apple juice, pineapple, mango, vanilla and honey. An abundance of oak, toffee, cream and hints of lemon and lime appear.
Palate
Sweet summer fruits covered in fresh cream, toffee and oak with lots of wood spice, crushed walnuts sprinkled with cinnamon. Hints of ginger, white pepper and honey glazed pears.
Finish
Medium – long. More oak and wood spice. Lots more honied fruits, spice, cinnamon and nutmeg. At the end there’s a sneaky green apple peeking out before finishing with a slight bitterness.
Overall
Quite a powerful dram, excellent value when it first appeared in the super markets at only £40. If you’re able to get your hands on this bottle, sub £65-£70 – we think you’ll be pleased with it.
