Tasting Notes
Nose
47% abv and at this age, it's gorgeous on the nose. Old school, damp dunnage, bold and buttery with delicate spices, nuts and with great balance of sherried fruits. The nose is amazing!
Palate
On the palate, the delicate spice found on the initial nosing is more prominent than expected, tick layer of brown/muscovado sugar, caramel and winter fruit. Wonderful balance of spirit and wood notes. I've had this blend before but second time, it's even better.
Finish
Very long finish on this one. The gums are tingling with joy still, the old antique notes still ringing on the tongue, don't spoil the experience whilst it remains - hold off on another sip. Big Xmas fruits, leather and caramelised brown sugar.
Overall
Absolutely wonderful stuff, no longer available but we're lucky enough to have several bottles!
