Tasting Notes

Nose

This is a bold one, maple syrup, dark fruits, blueberries, plums, dates and figs. Lots of dark chocolate and coffee beans, crushed hazelnuts, cinnamon and freshly baked pastry. There’s a dank and dustiness note, like old cedar cigar boxes.

Palate

Mouth-watering, within seconds your mouth is salivating. Big bold sherry arrival, red fruit sweetness coupled with dark fruits, cloves and cinnamon. Toffee apples, herbs, espresso and orange oil.

Finish

Very long, quite warming due to the high ABV and no water being added. More orange oil, black pepper, spiced tobacco finishing on a drying, slightly bitter dark chocolate.

Overall

A big whisky, high ABV that commands attention and respect. Although this tasting was without water, we’d recommended at least a pipet is added. For sherry, cask strength fans – this is one to try. For sure, something special and highly recommended.
