Tasting Notes
Nose
Stright off - heavily influenced by sherry, lots of dried fruits, prunes, cherries, figs, some nutty notes, oily. Quite a lively nose to this whisky, punchy, without being overwhelming.
Palate
Cooked fruits, stewed plums, dark chocolate, coffee with an abundance of woody notes. Spicy, fruity and a charred wood chip note appearing.
Finish
Quite a long finish, more spices and coffee, dark chocolate and tannins appearing - moving to a slightly drying end.
Overall
The A'bunadh certainly tests your taste buds, it's recommended to add a little water due to the high abv. A great sherry bomb for the price, although prices are starting to creep up for this range, it's still considered reasonable.
